General Description
We are seeking a dedicated, detail-oriented Network Administrator to design, implement, monitor, and maintain our network systems. This includes planning, developing, installing, configuring, maintaining, supporting, and optimizing all network hardware, software, and communication links. The person will also analyze and resolve end-user hardware and software computer problems in a timely and accurate fashion and provide end-user training where required. This role is critical in ensuring the reliability, security, and performance of our network infrastructure. You will be instrumental in supporting users, configuring hardware, monitoring performance, and responding to incidents or outages.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manage the functionality and efficiency of a network supporting IT infrastructure at multiple locations.
- Develop, track, revise, and monitor policies and standards for allocation related to the use of IT and computing resources as well as assure and sustain the integrity and security of network infrastructure.
- Assist end-users through email, phone, and remote assistance.
- Provide remote assistance to include network configuration, troubleshooting, and circuit validation.
- Maintain written documentation of incidents and escalate issues to the appropriate level of support as required by policies and procedures.
- Configure VLANs, firewalls, switches, routers, and other networking technologies.
- Support Cisco Unified Communications suite of technologies and Aruba Wireless infrastructure.
- Provide advice and training to end-users, and guide and inform senior leadership.
- Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
Requirements
Required Bachelor's degree
3 to 5 years relevant experience
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Must be a self-starter who can take senior-leader guidance and intent, and oversee the operations of independent and collaborative, assigned projects.
- Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Able to perform shift work that may include nights and weekends.
- Operational knowledge of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) and application virtualization, network and routing protocols, Windows Server, Active Directory, and certificate management, switch configuration and programming.
- Ability to install software and hardware on networking equipment and computers.
